As I was surfing the net recently, I came across some encouraging news in an article published by Katy Menczer in Apprentice Eye, entitled "Manchester Employers offer 50 apprenticeship positions."
Katy wrote:
Employers in
Manchester have offered 50
young people interviews for apprenticeship positions following an event
organised by the Prince’s Trust in partnership with the National Apprenticeship
Service. The aim was to link employers in the Greater Manchester region with
young people for apprenticeships.
The event was run
as a series of networking opportunities in which employers presented their
organisation and the type of apprenticeship they offer. Moreover, attendees
were presented with an idea of where their apprenticeship could take them in
five years and how it could shape future career prospects.
The list of
employers at the Manchester event included Greater Manchester Police, Greater
Manchester Fire Service, Vital Rail and Barrows Electrical.
This serves as a great testimony to the interest shown by employers in Manchester to taking on a young person on an apprenticeship programme.
If your company is considering taking on an apprentice in the future, it is worthwhile remembering that the Apprentice Academy has a number of apprentices looking to take their first step on the career ladder. You can view some of these young people on the Apprentice Academy website and our "Digital Apprentice Talent Window"
