Considering taking on a Social Media apprentice?

As I was surfing the net recently, I came across some encouraging news in an article published by Katy Menczer in Apprentice Eye, entitled "Manchester Employers offer 50 apprenticeship positions."

Katy wrote:

Employers in Manchester have offered 50 young people interviews for apprenticeship positions following an event organised by the Prince’s Trust in partnership with the National Apprenticeship Service. The aim was to link employers in the Greater Manchester region with young people for apprenticeships.

With one in five young people in the UK currently struggling to find work, and GCSE and A-level results soon to be published, employers from across the region met with potential apprentices.

The event was run as a series of networking opportunities in which employers presented their organisation and the type of apprenticeship they offer. Moreover, attendees were presented with an idea of where their apprenticeship could take them in five years and how it could shape future career prospects.
The list of employers at the Manchester event included Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire Service, Vital Rail and Barrows Electrical.
This serves as a great testimony to the interest shown by employers in Manchester to taking on a young person on an apprenticeship programme.
If your company is considering taking on an apprentice in the future, it is worthwhile remembering that the Apprentice Academy has a number of apprentices looking to take their first step on the career ladder. You can view some of these young people on the Apprentice Academy website and our "Digital Apprentice Talent Window"

Keep Calm and Carry on Blogging

In a push to move the Apprentice Academy up the Google rankings and generate traffic to our various social media platforms, staff here at the Apprentice Academy have been busy posting, liking, sharing, re-tweeting, and following on a variety of platforms including; Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo , YouTube, and LinkedIn

As I completed my first blog, I did like others wonder who (if anyone) would be reading my first blog as I plunged in to the blogashere. I was surprised and encouraged that my brother in law came across my blog via LinkedIn and I noticed that my blog had also been viewed in Australia, Malaysia, and the UAE!!...proving that blogging works.

Over the weekend, I came across in interesting article “How to Create a Killer Blog”  - Posted by Heidi Cohen in Blogging and thought I’d share it with everyone who may be thinking about posting their first blog. So if you considering the question below.

Do as the famous sports brand say “Just do it!”

See you in the Blogasphere… Just north of Salford!!

Manchester's Best Kept Secret

Manchester's Best Kept Secret

Having been with the Apprentice Academy for nearly 3 years and been part of this exciting and growing business I now feel compelled not only to enter the world of blogging but to let young people and employers in Manchester know about what is surely Manchester's best kept secret when it comes to the recruitment, placement, and on-going training of young people on apprenticeship programmes.

As a Company, our mission is to:
  • ·         To help businesses to become more productive.
  • ·         To support businesses to develop their future talent.
  • ·         To inspire young people to achieve success in the workplace.
  • ·         To ensure Manchester has the skills it needs for the future.
We work with a range of companies in Manchester delivering apprenticeships in Business Administration, and a new apprenticeship in Social and Digital Media Have a look at one of apprentices working in Social and Digital Media below

Having worked in both the public and private sector with a range of training / education providers and listened closely to the feedback from employers, I feel that The Apprentice Academy is at the forefront of apprenticeship delivery. That’s not to say we are resting on our laurels, especially in light of the recent Richard Report on apprenticeships. Our service offering is expanding month by month with some great feedback from employers and apprentices  alike. The results of a recent Customer Survey has seen some positive feedback (see below).
